about
Hamburg-based indie trio Roller Derby release new single ‘Say How Come’ via Practise Music. A dark and melancholic pop song, ‘Say How Come’ explores the emptiness that arises when a relationship starts to fade, when distance replaces feelings and passion that were once there. The song is filled with rich arrangements of distorted, shoegaze guitars, Mellotron flutes and a haunting yet catchy chorus.
lyrics
Heard you say it‘s gonna last
And no one doubts I’m fine
Can’t you see what’s missing here
All the years are passing by
Say how come I’m
always feeling lonely by your side
I swear it’s true you will
never see the teardrops in my eyes
And your glasses taste like wine
See this for a long, long time
And your glasses taste like wine
I remember every fight
I don’t know when I stopped liking it
Must been quite a while ago
But I cannot speak carelessly
only live it in my dreams
Say how come I’m
always feeling lonely by your side
I swear it’s true you will
never see the teardrops in my eyes
No more heartaches
running through my veins, love
No more heartaches
running through my veins
